
Tyler began T. Martin Development in 2023 after ten years of successfully managing real estate development projects in San Diego county. From initial entitlements to certificates of occupancy, Tyler is adept at navigating the regulatory complexities of California's development environment. A successful pre-law graduate at the University of Illinois, his work in public policy aims to achieve the Regional Housing Needs Assessment of San Diego County & Climate Action Plan.
A credentialed city planner and project management professional, Tyler's has delivered over 1,500 homes to the San Diego real estate market. Having managed master-planned communities for Lennar, his experience extends to public parks, retail/mixed-use, street improvements, renewable energy, and environmental preserves. He has processed environmental permits at CDFW, USFWS, & ACOE, and provides experience navigating CEQA when proposing mitigation measures.
An active member of the San Diego Building Industry Association, Tyler regularly advises elected officials on policy updates and supports smart-growth development at hearings. His shrewd arguments and proposals are responsive to local demand, support main street economies, and encourage community cooperation.
While serving on his local planning group, Tyler built a reputation for supporting housing opportunity in his "backyard". He presented a conceptual redesign of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard known as "Access OB" to improve traffic congestion, public transit service, and public park space. Tyler continues to work alongside MTS and SANDAG on public transportation improvement projects that align with the private homebuilding industry.
In his personal life, he enjoys playing piano, skiing, camping, cooking, hot yoga, and tending to his dog and saltwater aquarium.
